We are Penelope and Lloyd, an exceptional company.  We are master gardeners, horticulturists, and naturalists.  We are passionate about nature, the beauty it brings us, the moods it creates, the way its seasons and changes echo the constant change in our own lives.  We are in love with this part of the world, the rich history, the farms and rolling hills, the lush landscape - abundant and welcoming.  In everything we do, we seek to honor our shared home.

We possess a strong background of English formal and cottage gardening styles and techniques.  Our work is informed heavily by the aesthetics of English master gardeners/garden authors, Penelope Hobhouse and Christopher Lloyd.  We pay tribute to them with our name.  We aim to broaden the conversation by incorporating contemporary design from around the world.  We are particularly enamored with the work of Dutch master, Piet Oudolf.  Our favorite spaces being his stylized meadows - idealized versions of nature, at once peaceful and soothing and also stunning in their elegant color palettes and unusual layouts.

In our own work, the goal is always to create distinctive spaces that reflect the homeowners' personality and take most advantage of the properties assets.  We relish garden elements that are bold, even unusual.  We consider each space to be unique, just as each of our valued clients is unique.  We will work closely with you, as our client, listening to your needs and wishes to create a space that is truly the property of your dreams.
